The fish

We often get asked “What does Spanish Mackerel taste like”

Spanish mackerel tastes very mild in flavour with a slightly acidic note and light oil. The meat is quite firm, and flakes off into small chunks when cooked. We serve lemon with our fish & chips and always recommend our tartare sauce, which complements the fish wonderfully.

Is Spanish mackerel a good fish to eat?

They are rarely seen on seafood menus, but Spanish mackerel are wonderful to eat (especially the way we do it!). Mackerels are also one of the richest sources for Omega-3 fatty acids. These are the polyunsaturated fatty acids with well researched health benefits.
